Bocan Stone Circle

Bocan Stone Circle

Situated near St. Mary’s Church just outside Culdaff, the Bocan Stone Circle was probably built as a sun temple some 4-5000 years ago.

The remaining stones 1-2 metres in height now form 2 arcs which enclose an area of 20 metres.

On the road opposite is a well preserved megalithic monument The Temple of Dean often referred to as Laraghill Cairn. There are 20 large stones remaining and the first chambers are well preserved.
